In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., 400 produce and hygiene bags, serving 2,318 people, were distributed on Monday to Joliet Township High School families. The project was a multi-agency effort involving volunteers and donations from the Visitation and Aid Society of Joliet (produce grant sponsorship), BAG Lady Outreach (hygiene items), Zonta Club of the Joliet Area (bags & hygiene grant), Catholic Charities Diocese of Joliet (volunteer assistance), Habitat for Humanity (produce delivery), JTHS Food Service and Joliet Police Department ( braving the cold to do
food distribution and traffic control) and Sam’s Club (hand sanitizer).
It was great coming together to serve our community!
