Our annual spring fundraiser, held on Sunday, April 24, at the Jacob Henry Estate Mansion, was a terrific success! More than $10,000 was raised to support Zonta scholarships for local teens pursuing higher education and to support small grants given to local non-profits who provide services to girls, women and their families. Recipients of these grants will be announced in May 2022.
One of the most special moments of the event is when we present the Woman of Distinction award to a local community member who actively works to support and improve the status of women and girls and/or has a history of leadership and success in a non-traditional role as a woman. This year's deserving recipient is Michelle Jankowski, owner of Bella Cucina catering, who supports many local charities with food/refreshments and time. Michelle provided much needed curbside free meals during the height of the pandemic and continues to give back to her community.
