At its May member meeting, the Zonta Club of the Joliet Area inducted four new members to the club.
The first new member we inducted is Sylvia Acosta Chavez, who is the Executive Director of the Spanish Center of Joliet. Sylvia is sponsored by Zontian Dr. Theresa Rouse.
We inducted Yolanda Farmer, Executive Vice President of Joliet Junior College. Yolanda is sponsored by retired Joliet Junior College President and Zontian Judy Mitchell.
Our third newest member inducted is Georgeen Polyak. Georgeen is an Associate Professor and the Public Health Program Director for Benedictine University. She is sponsored by Zontian Barbara Leiber.
Our final newest member inducted is Sally Ritchey. Sally is the Director of IT for Trinity Services, Inc. She is sponsored by Zontian and Treasurer Karen Pastell. We welcome all of our new members! We look forward to working with you to make the world better for women and girls! Also at the May meeting, the 2023-2024 Executive Board was installed. Outgoing President Beth Colvin passed the gavel to new President, Bonnie Winfrey. First Vice-President is Liz Walsh and Second Vice-President is Diane Harris.
Karen Pastell returns as Treasurer, Catherine Miller will serve as Recording Secretary and Lisa Pappas will serve as Corresponding Secretary. Essence Clark and Judy Mitchell were installed as Directors of the Board.
