Our club was honored to sponsor and participate in the Will County Take Back the Night (TBTN) Rally on Thursday, October 20. This important event brings together survivors, supporters, activists and community leaders in a call for the end to domestic violence. The vigil, march and rally honor local women and child victims while bringing awareness to this social issue.
The guest speaker was Eden Strong, a local survivor of domestic violence, whose writings and story have appeared nationally in Time Magazine, Huffington Post, and USA Today. She is also the founder of Rise from the Ashes, a local non-profit assisting financially struggling victims of domestic violence in legally separating from abusers through the civil court process.
